Switch Test (Master)

NOTE: Testing master window regulator control switch should be performed with switch removed from vehicle. See MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH & RIGHT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Use a self-powered test light or an ohmmeter for testing.
  1. Clip one test lead to master window control switch pin No. 6 (Black wire). See Fig 1 . With both toggle switches in neutral position, pins No. 1 (Yellow/ Black wire), No. 2 (Black wire), No. 3 (White/Yellow wire) and No. 4 (Black wire) should have continuity to pin No. 6 (Black wire).
  2. Push both toggle switches to raise both windows. Neither pin, No. 1 (Yellow/Black wire) nor No. 3 (White/Yellow wire) should have continuity to pin No. 6 (Black wire).
  3. Push both toggle switches to lower both windows. Neither pin, No. 2 (Black wire) nor No. 4 (Black wire) should have continuity to pin No. 6 (Black wire).
  4. Remove test lead from pin No. 6 (Black wire) and connect lead to pin No. 5. (Pink wire). With both toggle switches in neutral position, pin No. 5 (Pink wire) should have continuity only to itself.
  5. Push both toggle switches to raise both windows. Both pins, No. 1 (Yellow/Black wire) and No. 3 (White/Yellow wire) should have continuity to pin No. 5 (Pink wire).
  6. Push both toggle switches to lower both windows. Both pins, No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 4 (Black wire) should have continuity to pin No. 5 (Pink wire). If any one toggle switch does not test correctly, replace master window regulator control switch.
