Test E: Gem Not Responding To Scan Tool
- Check Circuit No. 70 Between GEM & DLC
Disconnect GEM harness connector. Measure resistance of circuit No. 70 (Light Blue/White wire) between DLC terminals No. 7 and GEM harness connector C1 terminal No. 12. See Fig 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open circuit No. 70 (Light Blue/White wire). Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.
- Check GEM Connector
Inspect GEM harness connector for damage or corrosion. Repair if necessary. If connector is okay, replace GEM. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.
