Test D - Power Window Switch Does Not Illuminate
- To check interior lighting operation, turn headlight switch to PARK position. If instrument panel illuminates, go to next step. If panel does not illuminate, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL - ELECTRONIC article, repair as necessary and retest system.
- To check illumination feed to window switch, disconnect suspect window switch connector. Turn headlight switch to PARK position. Measure voltage from ground to master switch connector, pin No. 1 (Yellow/Black wire) or right window switch connector, pin No. 7 (Yellow/Black wire). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in circuit No. 137 (Yellow/Black wire) and retest system. See Figure or Figure .
- To check ground circuit, measure resistance from ground to suspect window control switch, pins No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 4 (Black wire) of master switch or pin No. 6 (Black wire) of right door switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace master control switch and retest system. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit No. 57 (Black wire) and retest system.
