Seat Does Not Move Horizontally/Vertically

  1. Check Forward & Rearward Movement

    Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Operate seat forward and rearward, using seat control switch. If seat moves forward and rearward smoothly and completely, go to next step. If seat does not move forward and rearward smoothly and completely, go to step 5).
  2. Check Tilting Movement

    Operate seat tilting movement at seat control switch. If front motor does not operate, go to step 4). If rear motor does not operate, go to next step. If recline motor does not operate (if equipped), go to step 6). If all motors are inoperative, go to POWER SEAT INOPERATIVE  .
  3. Check Voltage At Rear Height Motor

    Disconnect front seat track assembly harness connector. Measure voltage between Yellow/Violet and White/Violet wires at front seat track assembly harness connector. Operate rear height motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace seat track assembly. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring between seat control switch and front seat track assembly harness connectors. If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
  4. Check Voltage At Front Height Motor

    Disconnect front seat track assembly harness connector. Measure voltage between Yellow/Black and White/Black wires at front seat track assembly harness connector. Operate front height motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace seat track assembly. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring between seat control switch and front seat track assembly harness connectors. If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
  5. Check Voltage At Horizontal Motor

    Disconnect front seat track assembly harness connector. Measure voltage between Yellow/Green and White/Green wires at front seat track assembly harness connector. Operate horizontal motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace seat track assembly. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring between seat control switch and front seat track assembly harness connectors. If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
  6. Check Voltage At Recline Motor

    Disconnect recline motor harness connector. Measure voltage between Yellow/Red and White/Red wires at recline motor harness connector. Operate recline motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace recline motor. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring between seat control switch and recline motor harness connectors. If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
