Symptom Testing: Notes
WARNING:
Vehicle is equipped with an air bag system. System MUST be disabled before working near steering column and instrument cluster to prevent air bag deployment. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
CAUTION:
Wiper motor contains ceramic magnets that may crack or shatter if motor is dropped or handled roughly.
Before performing any tests on wiper/washer system, check the following items to eliminate common problems:
- Fuse No. 20 (10-amp).
- Damaged wiper motor linkage.
- Damaged washer pump.
- Loose or corroded connections.
- Damaged wiring harness.
- Kinked washer hose.
