Enabling & Disabling Features On Remote Anti-Theft

Personality Module

Enable/disable mode allows technician to set alarm configuration to match the laws for alarm operation in the country where vehicle is to be driven. Enable/disable mode will also enable/disable autolock. Alarm configurations are set by assembly plant for regulations in expected destination and should not be modified for use in other countries. Remote keyless entry transmitter PANIC will share exterior lights and horn characteristics. PANIC alarm will also turn on interior lights in all cases for 25 seconds.

NOTE: Step 2) must be completed within 30 seconds of turning ignition switch to RUN position in step 1). While in enable/disable mode, RAP module will not have any other functionality except enabling/disabling features. Enabling a new alarm configuration will automatically disable previous alarm configuration.
  1. Ensure anti-theft system is not armed or triggered. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Close all doors. Turn ignition switch from LOCK to RUN position.
  2. Press power door UNLOCK button 3 times. Turn ignition switch from RUN to LOCK position. Press power door UNLOCK button 3 times. Turn ignition switch back to RUN position. If enable/disable mode has been entered successfully, horn will chirp.
  3. Press power door UNLOCK button number of times associated with function you would like to enable or disable as shown in table. See ENABLE/DISABLE FUNCTIONS table. Press power door LOCK button once after last UNLOCK button press in order to enter enable/disable code. System will confirm altered function by chirping horn same number of times as number of unlock presses registered. If function has been enabled, a long horn sound will follow sequence of horn chirps. If function has been disabled, no horn sound will follow sequence of horn chirps.
  4. After horn chirp sequence has occurred in enable/disable mode, another function may be enabled or disabled. To exit enable/disable mode, turn ignition switch to LOCK position or allow 5 minutes to pass after entering enable mode. After exiting, system will confirm exit with horn chirp if a function has been changed.

NOTE: This procedure is used when a customer needs keys programmed into system and does not have 2 programmed ignition keys available, or when programmed ignition keys have been lost and/or ignition switch assembly has been replaced. This procedure will erase all programmed ignition keys from memory and prevent vehicle from starting until 2 keys have been programmed. Ignition keys must have correct mechanical key cut for vehicle and must be an encoded key. If additional key(s) are to be programmed, perform KEY PROGRAMMING - USING 2 PROGRAMMED KEYS. If remaining keys are with customer and not with vehicle, instruct customer to see owner's manual to program spare key(s).
