Disabling System
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Wait one minute. This is the time required for backup power supply in diagnostic monitor to deplete its stored energy.
- Remove 2 bolts retaining driver-side air bag to steering wheel. Disconnect driver-side air bag module electrical connector. Attach Air Bag Simulator (Rotunda 105-00010) to air bag electrical connector to simulate air bag. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
- To disable passenger-side air bag, open glove box door to fullest extent by pushing in on tabs and releasing door. Remove 4 retaining bolts. Pull air bag out of instrument panel and disconnect air bag electrical connectors. Attach air bag simulator to wire harness. If testing or vehicle operation is required, connect positive battery cable, then connect negative battery cable.
