Test B: Single Power Window Inoperative

  1. Check Window Operation  - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Attempt to operate right door window. If right door window operates, go to next step. If right door window does not operate, go to step 10).
  2. Check Position Of Driver Door Window  - Turn ignition off. Check position of driver door window. If driver door window is not closed, go to next step. If driver door window is closed, go to step 4).
  3. Check Driver Door Window Up Operation  - Disconnect 15-pin driver door master window switch connector C509. Connect a jumper wire between positive battery terminal and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 13 (Red/Black wire). Connect another jumper wire between ground and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 6 (Green wire). If driver door window does not go up, go to step 5). If driver door window goes up, go to step 8).
  4. Check Driver Door Window Down Operation  - Disconnect 15-pin driver door master window switch connector C509. Connect a jumper wire between positive battery terminal and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 6 (Green wire). Connect another jumper wire between ground and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 13 (Red/Black wire). If driver door window does not go down, go to next step. If driver door window goes down, go to step 8).
  5. Check Green Wire For Open  - Disconnect 5-pin one-touch down control unit connector C205 (located behind left side of instrument panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of Green wire between driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 6 and one-touch down control unit connector C205 terminal No. 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Green wire. Retest system operation.
  6. Check Red/Green Wire For Open  - Disconnect driver door power window motor connector C504. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of Red/Green wire between driver door power window motor connector C504 and one-touch down control unit connector C205 terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red/Green wire. Retest system operation.
  7. Check Red/Black Wire For Open  - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of Red/Black wire between driver door power window motor connector C504 and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 13. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace driver door power window motor and retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red/Black wire. Retest system operation.
  8. Check Black/White Wire For Voltage  - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 10 (Black/White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair Black/White wire and retest system operation.
  9. Check Black Wire For Open  - Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminals No. 7 and 12 (Black wires). If resistances are less than 5 ohms, replace driver door master window switch and retest system operation. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate Black wire(s). Retest system operation.
  10. Check Black/White Wire For Voltage  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect 15-pin driver door master window switch connector C509. Disconnect right door window switch connector C609. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 11 (Black/White wire). Check Voltage between ground and right door window switch connector C609 terminal No. 8 (Black/White wire). If both voltage readings are more than 10 volts, go to next step. If either voltage reading is 10 volts or less, repair appropriate Black/White wire(s) and retest system operation.
  11. Check Black Wire For Open  - Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door master window switch connector C509 terminals No. 7, 9, 12, and 14 (Black wires). If resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, reconnect both window switch connectors and go to next step. If any resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate Black wire(s). Retest system operation.
  12. Verify Driver Door Master Window Switch Is Inoperative & Right Door Window Switch Operates Only In One Direction  - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate right door window from driver door master window switch controls. Operate right door window switch. If driver door master window switch is inoperative in both directions and right door window switch operates in only one direction, go to step 18). If driver door master window switch operates in one direction and right door window switch does not operate in only one direction, go to next step.
  13. Verify Driver Door Master Window Switch Is Inoperative & Right Door Window Switch Operates Properly  - Operate right door window from driver door master window switch controls. Operate right door window switch. If driver door master window switch is inoperative in both directions and right door window switch operates properly, replace driver door master window switch and retest system operation. If driver door master window switch operates properly and right door window switch does not operate properly, go to next step.
  14. Verify Driver Door Master Window Switch Operates Properly & Right Door Window Switch Is Inoperative  - Operate right door window from driver door master window switch controls. Operate right door window switch. If driver door master window switch operates properly and right door window switch is inoperative, replace right door window switch and retest system operation. If driver door master window switch does not operate properly and right door window switch is not inoperative, go to next step.
  15. Check Right Front Window Motor Operation  - Perform power window motor test. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If right front power window motor is faulty, replace right front power window motor and retest system operation. If right front power window motor is okay, go to next step.
  16. Check Red Wire For Open  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect right door power window motor connector C607. Disconnect right door window switch connector C609. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Red wire between right door window switch connector C609 terminal No. 10 and right door power window motor connector C607. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red wire and retest system operation.
  17. Check White Wire For Open  - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in White wire between right door window switch connector C609 terminal No. 6 and right door power window motor connector C607. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace right door window switch and retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in White wire and retest system operation.
  18. Check Green/Black Wire For Open  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect 15-pin driver door master window switch connector C509. Disconnect right door window switch connector C609. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Green/Black wire between driver door master window switch connector C509 terminal No. 15 and right door window switch connector C609 terminal No. 7. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Light Green/Red wire and retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Green/Black wire and retest system operation.
