Test G: No Module/Network Communication - ISO 9141 Link
- Turn ignition off. Inspect NGS tester connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair connector as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Inspect Data Link Connector (DLC) for physical damage, bent terminals or corrosion. Repair as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 16 (Yellow wire) at DLC. See Figure . If any reading indicates voltage, go to next step (if equipped with ABS module) or go to step 5) (if not equipped with ABS module). If both readings indicate zero volts, repair Light Blue/White wire between splice S255 and DLC. Retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS module connector located in right front of engine compartment, behind radiator. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 16 (Yellow wire) at DLC. If any reading indicates voltage, go to next step. If both readings indicate zero volts, replace ABS module and retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Disconnect air bag diagnostic monitor Black 12-pin connector C277 located behind instrument panel on tunnel of floorpan. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 16 (Yellow wire) at DLC. If any reading indicates voltage, go to next step (if equipped with ABS module) or repair Light Blue/White wire between air bag diagnostic monitor and DLC (if not equipped with ABS module). If both readings indicate zero volts, replace ABS module and retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Black 16-pin connector C108 located near right side of radiator. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 16 (Yellow wire) at DLC. If any reading indicates voltage, go to next step. If both readings indicate zero volts, repair Light Blue/White wire between male half of connector C108 and ABS module. Retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Gray 8-pin connector C259 located behind right kick panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 16 (Yellow wire) at DLC. If any reading indicates voltage, go to next step. If both readings indicate zero volts, repair Light Blue/White wire between female half of connector C108 and female half of connector C259. Retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Black 14-pin connector C219 located behind right kick panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 16 (Yellow wire) at DLC. If any reading indicates voltage, repair Light Blue/White wire between female half of connector C219 and DLC. Retest system for normal operation. If both readings indicate zero volts, repair Light Blue/White wire between male half of connector C219 and male half of connector C259. Retest system for normal operation.
