Remote Keyless Entry System: Description

The remote keyless entry system has 4 main components: a Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module located under instrument panel on right side of steering column, a keypad located on the driver's door, an antenna located in the wiring harness near the RAP module, and a remote transmitter(s).

The remote keyless entry system receives inputs from the remote transmitters, keyless entry keypad, door pin switches, door lock switches, Generic Electronic Module (GEM), brakelight switch, ignition switch and transmission range sensor. System distributes outputs to driver door unlock relay, all doors unlock relay, all door lock relay, luggage compartment release relay, horn relay, headlight relay, GEM, keypad light, theft indicator (if equipped) and liftgate unlock relay (on wagon).
