Description & Operation

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system major components are: a central locking module located behind glove box, an antenna (coaxial cable) located in right side "A" pillar and a RKE transmitter carried by the driver.

When the operator presses the appropriate transmitter button, the system locks and unlocks doors, locks and unlocks decklid, activates or deactivates the anti-theft system (if equipped), and turns on convenience lights. RKE system will not work with ignition switch in ACC or RUN position.

The system is also equipped with a panic mode function. Panic mode is activated by pressing PANIC button on RKE transmitter. When activated, horn will sound and headlamps will flash until PANIC button is pressed again or ignition switch is turned to RUN or START position.
