Test F: Passive Anti-Theft System (Pats) Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester

NOTE: After making any repair, perform data link diagnostic procedure. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect PATS module harness connector C242. See Figure . Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If connector is okay, go to next step. If problem exists, repair connector as necessary.
  2. Measure resistance in Tan/Orange wire between terminal No. 6 at PATS module harness connector C242 and terminal No. 2 at DLC. See Figure and Fig 1 . Also, measure resistance in Pink/Light Blue wire between terminal No. 5 at PATS module harness connector C242 and terminal No. 10 at DLC. If both resistance readings are 5 ohms or less, replace PATS module. If any resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Orange wire and/or Light Blue/White wire between PATS module and DLC.
