Test M: Smart Lock Feature Does Not Operate Properly
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position, leaving key in ignition. Open driver's door. If warning chime sounds, go to next step. If warning chime does not sound, repair warning chime system. See appropriate wiring diagram in WARNING SYSTEMS article.
- Using driver's door lock switch, lock vehicle. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, repair power door lock system. See appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE article.
- Disconnect Generic Electronic Module (GEM) harness connector C248. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 11 (Pink/Yellow wire) at GEM harness connector C248. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Pink/Yellow wire between terminal No. 11 at GEM harness connector C248, splice S201 (located at left kick panel) and terminal No. 85 at all door lock relay harness connector C255. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Measure voltage in between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink/Light Green wire) at GEM harness connector C248. If battery voltage exists, replace GEM. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Pink/Light Green wire between terminal No. 1 at GEM harness connector C248, splice S200 (located at left kick panel) and terminal No. 85 at all door unlock relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
