Test B: Power Windows Completely Inoperative

NOTE: After making any repair, repeat Generic Electronic Module (GEM) self-test using NGS tester.
  1. Operate passenger's windows from driver's master power window switch. If windows do not operate, go to next step. If windows operate, perform TEST C: SINGLE POWER WINDOW INOPERATIVE  .
  2. Disconnect master window control switch harness connector C509. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (Light Blue/Black wire) at master window control switch harness connector C509. See Figure . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  4 .
  3. Disconnect instrument panel fuse box harness connector C247. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 23 (Light Blue/Black wire) at instrument panel fuse box harness connector C247. See Figure . If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue/Black wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, repair open in Light Blue/Black wire.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black wire) at driver's door window switch harness connector C509. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace master window control switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
