Test C

  1. Disconnect generator 3-pin connector. Measure voltage between connector terminal "A" (Orange/Light Blue wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check battery junction box fuse No. 26 (30-amp). Replace fuse as necessary. If fuse is okay, repair open in Orange/Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Check system operation.
  2. Leave generator 3-pin connector disconnected. Observe charge warning indicator with ignition on, engine off. If indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If indicator illuminates, repair short to ground in Light Green/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Check system operation.
  3. Restore connections and turn off all accessories. Start engine and run at 2000 RPM. Measure voltage between generator terminal B+ (Yellow/White wire) and ground. If voltage is greater than 15.5 volts, go to TEST B . If voltage is 15.5 volts or less, replace voltage regulator and check system operation. See VOLTAGE REGULATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
