NOTE:
If PCM is replace, PCM MUST be reprogrammed and all ignition keys MUST be programmed into PCM.
- Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Connect NGS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, retrieve and record continuous DTCs. Clear continuous DTCs and perform PCM self-test. If DTC B1600 is retrieved, go to next step. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is okay at this time. If any other DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See PCM DTC INDEX table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Cut a NEW encoded ignition key. Using NEW key, turn ignition switch to RUN position. Program NEW key. See PROGRAMMING WITHOUT USING 2 PROGRAMMED KEYS under PROGRAMMING. Clear continuous PCM DTCs. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Retrieve PCM continuous DTCs. If DTC B1600 is retrieved, go to next step. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is okay at this time. If any other DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See PCM DTC INDEX table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
