Test E: Seat Does Not Move Horizontally/Vertically

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Operate seat forward and rearward at seat control switch. If seat moves forward and rearward smoothly and completely, go to next step. If seat does not move forward and rearward smoothly and completely, go to step  5 .
  2. Operate seat tilting movement at seat control switch. If front motor does not operate, go to step  4 . If rear motor does not operate, go to next step. If all motors are inoperative, perform TEST A: POWER SEAT INOPERATIVE  .
  3. Disconnect front seat track assembly harness connector C1852D. See Fig 1 . Measure voltage between Violet/White and Blue/Orange wires at front seat track assembly harness connector C1852D. Operate rear height motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace seat track assembly. If battery voltage does not exist when switch is operated, check wiring between seat control switch and front seat track assembly harness connectors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
  4. Disconnect front seat track assembly harness connector C1852D. Measure voltage between Yellow/Black and White/Black wires at front seat track assembly harness connector C1852D. Operate front height motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace seat track assembly. If battery voltage does not exist when switch is operated, check wiring between seat control switch and front seat track assembly harness connectors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
  5. Disconnect front seat track assembly harness connector C1852D. Measure voltage between Violet/Black and Blue/Black wires at front seat track assembly harness connector C1852D. Operate horizontal motor at seat control switch. If battery voltage exists when switch is operated, replace seat forward/rearward motor. If battery voltage does not exist when switch is operated, check wiring between seat control switch and front seat track assembly harness connectors. If wiring is damaged, repair as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace seat control switch.
