Test E: Right Rear Power Window Inoperative
NOTE:
On driver's power window control switch harness connector C75b there are 2 Violet/Blue wires.
- Ensure right rear window is up. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's power window control switch harness connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminal No. 3 (White wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75b. See Figure and Figure . Using another fused jumper wire, connect terminal No. 4 (Yellow wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a and terminal No. 2 (Violet/Blue wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75b. If right rear window does not go down, remove jumper wires and go to next step. If right rear window goes down, replace driver's power window control switch.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right rear power window control switch harness connector C490. Measure resistance between terminal No. 6 (White/Blue wire) at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490 and terminal No. 3 (White wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (White/Blue wire) at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in White/Blue or White wire.
- Measure resistance between terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Blue) at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490 and terminal No. 4 (Yellow wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow wire) at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in Yellow/Blue or Yellow wire.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect driver's power window control switch harness connector. Ensure driver's power window switch lockout switch is not in LOCK position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (Violet wire) at right rear window control switch harness connector C490. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Violet, Violet/Yellow, and/or Green/Yellow wires.
- Ensure right rear window is up. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminals No. 6 (White/Blue wire) and No. 1 (White/Red wire) at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490. Using another fused jumper wire, connect terminals No. 2 (Violet wire) and No. 7 (Yellow/Red wire) at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490. If right rear window does not go down, remove jumper wires and go to next step. If right rear window goes down, replace right rear window control switch.
- Disconnect right rear power window motor harness connector C1876. Measure resistance in White/Red wire between terminal No. 1 at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490 and terminal No. 2 at right rear power window motor harness connector C1876. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Red wire) at right rear window control switch harness connector C490. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in White/Red wire.
- Measure resistance in Yellow/Red wire between terminal No. 7 at right rear power window control switch harness connector C490 and terminal No. 1 at right rear power window motor harness connector C1876. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Red wire) at right rear window control switch harness connector C490. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, replace right rear power window motor. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in Yellow/Red wire.
NOTE:
Right rear power window switch power wire changes color 3 times between driver's power window control switch and right rear power window control switch.
