Test F: Left Rear Power Window Inoperative
NOTE:
On driver's power window control switch harness connector C75b there are 2 Violet/Blue wires.
- Ensure left rear window is up. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's power window control switch harness connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminal No. 8 (White/Blue wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75b. See Figure and Figure . Using another fused jumper wire, connect terminal No. 9 (Yellow/Blue wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a and terminal No. 2 (Violet/Blue wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75b. If left rear window does not go down, remove jumper wires and go to next step. If left rear window goes down, replace driver's power window control switch.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854. Measure resistance between terminal No. 6 (White/Blue wire) at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854 and terminal No. 8 (White/Blue wire) at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (White/Blue wire) at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in White/Blue wire.
- Measure resistance in Yellow/Blue wire between terminal No. 3 at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854 and terminal No. 9 at driver's power window control switch harness connector C75a. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Blue wire) at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in Yellow/Blue or wire.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect driver's power window control switch harness connector. Ensure driver's power window switch lockout switch is not in LOCK position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (Violet wire) at left rear window control switch harness connector C1854. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Violet or Violet/Blue wire.
- Ensure left rear window is up. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminals No. 6 (White/Blue wire) and No. 1 (White/Red wire) at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854. Using another fused jumper wire, connect terminals No. 2 (Violet wire) and No. 7 (Yellow/Red wire) at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854. If left rear window does not go down, remove jumper wires and go to next step. If left rear window goes down, replace left rear window control switch.
- Disconnect left rear power window motor harness connector C801. Measure resistance in White/Red wire between terminal No. 1 at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854 and terminal No. 2 at left rear power window motor harness connector C801. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Red wire) at left rear window control switch harness connector C1854. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in White/Red wire.
- Measure resistance in Yellow/Red wire between terminal No. 7 at left rear power window control switch harness connector C1854 and terminal No. 1 at left rear power window motor harness connector C801. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Red wire) at left rear window control switch harness connector C1854. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistance readings are as specified, replace left rear power window motor. If either resistance reading is not as specified, repair open and/or short to ground in Yellow/Red wire.
NOTE:
Left rear power window switch power wire changes color 2 times between driver's power window control switch and left rear power window control switch.
