Evaporative Emissions Repair Verification Drive Cycle

  1. Attach scan tool to DLC. Cycle ignition to ON, OFF then ON position. Select appropriate vehicle and engine qualifier. Clear all DTCs and perform PCM reset. Monitor ECT, EVAPDC, FLI and TP MODE PIDs. Press DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK, PCM, PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD, press trigger to select each PID, then START.
  2. Start engine without turning ignition off. Idle vehicle for 15 seconds. Drive vehicle at 40 MPH until ECT is 170°F (76.7°C) or more. If IAT is 40-100°F (4.4-37.8°C), see next step. If IAT is not as specified, proceed with test, but vehicle will need to sit for 8 hours or more, then repeat test to clear DTC P1000.
  3. Drive at 40 MPH for 60 seconds. Ensure IAT PID value is 40-100°F (4.4-37.8°C), TP MODE is PT, EVAPDC, is 75 percent or more and FLI PID is 15-85 percent. Avoid sharp turns and hills. Drive 45-65 MPH for 10 minutes. Bring vehicle to stop and idle in Park position (A/T) or Neutral position (M/T) for 2 minutes.
  4. Using scan tool, check for any pending codes. Repair any pending codes. Rerun any unfinished monitors.
