Selector Lever Indicator Adjustment

  1. Remove the screws and the lower steering column opening finish panel.

  2. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.

  3. Remove the screw retaining the upper steering column shroud to the steering column.

  4. Remove the upper steering column shroud.

  5. Rotate the gearshift lever clockwise until it bottoms out (1st gear), then rotate it counterclockwise 3 detents ((D) position).
  6. Hang a 1.4-kg (3-lb) weight on the gearshift lever.
  7. Rotate the thumbwheel to center the selector lever indicator in the middle of the (D) position.

  8. Remove the 1.4-kg (3-lb) weight.
  9. Rotate the gearshift lever into each detent to verify that the selector lever indicator matches the selected range. Readjust, if necessary.
  10. Install the upper steering column shroud.

  11. Install the screw retaining the upper steering column shroud to the steering column.

  12. Position the lower steering column shroud and install the 3 screws.

  13. Position the lower steering column opening finish panel and install the screws.
