Selector Lever Cable: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in DRIVE, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the lower steering column shroud and finish panel.
  3. Carry out the following:
    1. Remove the 4 screws and position the wire harness shield aside.
    2. Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission selector lever arm.
    3. Disconnect the shift cable from the bracket.

  4. Push the rubber grommet through the bulkhead.

  5. Remove the shift cable from the vehicle.
    1. Disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever.
    2. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift cable bracket.
    3. Remove the shift cable from the vehicle.

  6. Remove the 2 bolts and the shift cable bracket.
