Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis and 2006 Ford Crown Victoria. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    WARNING: If equipped with fire suppression system, depower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM .
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR .
  3. Install the special tool.

  4. Install the special tool.

  5. NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
  6. Remove the RH and LH lower engine mount nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  7. Using the special tool, raise the engine.

  8. Remove the 3 RH engine mount bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the RH engine mount.
  10. WARNING: If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM .
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system
