Description & Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Windshield wipers are operated by a permanent-magnet motor. When wiper control switch is in intermittent position, wipers make single sweeps, separated by adjustable-length pauses. All wiper functions are controlled by Generic Electronic Module (GEM). GEM is located on backside of central junction box.
Vehicle is equipped with speed dependent wipers. When wiper control is in intermittent position, wiper speed will adjust as vehicle speed increases. See SPEED DEPENDENT WIPERS under PROGRAMMING.
