NOTE:
DTC C1096 may be caused when the ABS hydraulic pump motor is commanded ON without the valve power relay commanded ON, when using the ABS active command mode. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph). If DTC C1096 is retrieved again, Go To PINPOINT TEST E: DTCS C1095 AND C1096-ABS HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT FAILURE/OPEN . If DTC C1096 is not retrieved again, Go To PINPOINT TEST I: CHECK FOR CORRECT ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE OPERATION . |

For 2WD vehicles, VERIFY that the 2WD ABS module is installed. If the correct ABS module for the correct vehicle is installed, CHECK the instrument cluster for correct configuration. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION . For 4WD vehicles, if the instrument cluster is configured correctly, Go To PINPOINT TEST G: DTC C1414: INCORRECT MODULE DESIGN LEVEL . For 2WD vehicles, if the instrument cluster is configured correctly, INSTALL a new ABS module, REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE . CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied. |
