Audio System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Ranger is available with the following audio systems:

The audio unit can be powered up when the key is in the RUN or the ACC position. The smart junction box (SJB) supplies voltage to the audio unit through circuits 1002 (BK/PK) (hot in RUN/ACC) and 797 (LG/VT) (hot at all times). Voltage is supplied to the subwoofer amplifier in both CDX6 Audiophile and TREMOR audio systems by the battery junction box (BJB) through circuit 828 (VT/LB) (hot at all times). When the audio unit sends a voltage to the amplifier, through subwoofer amplifier enable circuit 829 (WH/VT), the amplifier is powered up. In the CDX6 audiophile the subwoofer amplifier powers the subwoofer only. In the TREMOR audio system the radio amplifier powers all of the speakers. The radio suppression equipment reduces interference transmitted through the radio speakers by the engine ignition and electrical systems.
