Test D: Driver's Window Is Inoperative

NOTE: Only vehicles equipped with keyless entry system have a Driver's Door Module (DDM).
  1. If vehicle is equipped with a Driver's Door Module (DDM), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with a Driver's Door Module (DDM), go to step  24 .
  2. Connect NGS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using NGS tester, perform DDM self-test. If DTC B1549 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B1549 is not retrieved, go to step  9 .
  3. Ensure driver's door master window switch is not pressed. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW. If PID indicates DOWN, go to next step. If PID does not indicate DOWN, go to step  6 .
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW. If PID indicates DOWN, go to next step. If PID does not indicate DOWN, replace driver's door master window switch.
  5. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM harness connector C520. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Tan/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C520. See Figure . If voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Tan/Black wire. If voltage does not exist, replace DDM.
  6. Ensure driver's door master window switch is not pressed. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW. If PID indicates UP, go to next step. If PID does not indicate UP, clear DTCs. Repeat DDM self-test. If DTC B1549 is retrieved again, replace DDM.
  7. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW. If PID indicates UP, go to next step. If PID does not indicate UP, replace driver's door master window switch.
  8. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM harness connector C520. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (White/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C520. See Figure . If voltage exists, repair short to voltage in White/Black wire. If voltage does not exist, replace DDM.
  9. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window UP position. If PID does not indicate UP, go to next step. If PID indicates UP, go to step  14 .
  10. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM harness connector C518. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (White/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C518. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to step  13 .
  11. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (White/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C518. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Black wire.
  12. Connect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (White/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C518 while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window UP position. If battery voltage exists, replace DDM. If battery voltage does not exist, replace driver's door master window switch.
  13. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance in White/Black wire between terminal No. 2 at DDM harness connector C518 and terminal No. 8 at driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Black wire.
  14. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window DOWN position. If PID does not indicate DOWN, go to next step. If PID indicates DOWN, go to step  19 .
  15. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM harness connector C520. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C520. See Figure . If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to step  18 .
  16. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C520. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Black wire.
  17. Connect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Tan/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C520 while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window DOWN position. If battery voltage exists, replace DDM. If battery voltage does not exist, replace driver's door master window switch.
  18. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance in Tan/Black wire between terminal No. 1 at DDM harness connector C520 and terminal No. 10 at driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Black wire.
  19. Disconnect driver's window motor harness connector C510. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at Yellow wire terminal at driver's window motor harness connector C510 while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window DOWN position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  22 .
  20. Measure resistance between ground and White/Black wire at driver's window motor harness connector C510. If resistance is greater than 5ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch.
  21. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance in White/Black wire between driver's window motor harness connector C510 and terminal No. 8 driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Black wire.
  22. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM harness connector C520. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow wire) at DDM harness connector C520. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow wire.
  23. Measure resistance in Yellow wire between driver's window motor harness connector C510 and terminal No. 2 at DDM harness connector C520. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace DDM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow wire.
  24. Disconnect driver's window motor harness connector C510. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at Yellow wire terminal at driver's window motor harness connector C510 while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window DOWN position. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  30 .
  25. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect one touch down module harness connector C507. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (Tan/Black wire) at one touch down module harness connector C507 while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window DOWN position. See Fig 2 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  28 .
  26. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Tan/Black wire) at one touch down module harness connector C507. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Black wire.
  27. Measure resistance in Tan/Black wire between terminal No. 2 at one touch down module harness connector C507 and terminal No. 10 at driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure and Fig 2 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Black wire.
  28. Measure resistance between ground and Yellow wire terminal at driver's window motor harness connector C510. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow wire.
  29. Measure resistance in Yellow wire between terminal No. 1 at one touch down module harness connector C507 and driver's window motor harness connector C510. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace one touch down module. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow wire.
  30. Measure resistance between ground and White/Black wire terminal at driver's window motor harness connector C510. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to step  32 .
  31. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance in White/Black wire between driver's window motor harness connector C510 and terminal No. 8 driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Black wire.
  32. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and White/Black wire terminal at driver's window motor harness connector C510. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Black wire.
  33. Connect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at White/Black wire terminal at driver's window motor harness connector C510 while pressing driver's door master window switch to driver's window UP position. If battery voltage does not exist, replace driver's door master window switch. If battery voltage exists, replace driver's window motor.
