Remote Transmitter Without Icons

NOTE: Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Data Link Connector (DLC) may also be referred to as program connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN or ACC position. Using shorting pin, temporarily short terminals of RKE DLC together. RKE DLC is located at base of steering column. On all models, all doors should lock, then unlock.
  2. Press any button on transmitter(s). All doors should lock, then unlock to verify transmitter(s) have been programmed. If doors do not respond, press button again (3 times maximum) with same transmitter. If doors still do not respond, go to TEST A: ALL DOOR LOCKS INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. Repeat procedure for additional transmitters (4 maximum). Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove shorting pin from RKE DLC. Very remote transmitters have been programmed by depressing LOCK and UNLOCK buttons and vehicle responds accordingly.
