Ignition Timing: Villager
- Ensure engine is at operating temperature, all accessories are off, and transmission is in Park or Neutral. Set parking brake. Ensure idle speed is correct.
- Connect timing light to No. 1 spark plug wire. Disconnect Idle Air Control (IAC) wiring harness connector. Start engine. Check base ignition timing. See IGNITION TIMING table.
- If timing is not to specification, loosen distributor hold-down bolt. Adjust timing as necessary. Turn engine off. Reconnect IAC harness connector. Start engine. Ensure advance mechanism functions when engine speed is increased.
