Brake Light Switch

Brake light switch is wired to brakelight circuit and PCM. It is located above brake pedal and signals PCM when the brake pedal is applied.
Switch input is used primarily for torque converter clutch lock/unlock strategy, cruise (speed) control and auxiliary idle control (if equipped).
If all brake lights burn out, a pull up resistor in PCM provides high voltage at PCM for fail-safe operation.
Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch is located on the Brake Pedal Assembly.
