Test H: No Module/Network Communication - All Modules

  1. Measure voltage between ground and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 16 (Red wire). See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to step  4 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Check fuse F10 (10-amp) located in Battery Junction Box (BJB). If fuse is okay, go to next step. Replace fuse, if blown. If fuse blows again, repair short in circuit between BJB and DLC. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system. If fuse does not blow again, system is okay at this time.
  3. Disconnect Gray 40-pin in-line harness connector C70. Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary. If connector is okay, reconnect. Measure resistance between fuse F10 socket (fused circuit side) and DLC terminal No. 16 (Red wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair circuit between fuse F10 socket and battery. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair circuit between fuse F10 socket and DLC. Retest system.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and DLC terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 5 (Black/Orange wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, system is okay. Check scan tool. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair ground circuit(s) and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
