Test 10: Traction Control System Cannot Be Disabled

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect traction control switch (C717). Using DVOM, measure resistance between traction control switch terminal No. 1 (Black/White wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Black/White wire. Test system for normal operation.
  2. Measure resistance between traction control switch terminals No. 1 and 2 (component side) while depressing traction control switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace traction control switch. Test system for normal operation.
  3. Disconnect TCS connector (C830). Measure resistance between TCS connector terminal No. 9 (Black/White wire) and traction control switch terminal No. 2 (Black/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace TCS module, test system for normal operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Black/White wire. Test system for normal operation.
