Abs Hydraulic Control Unit

  1. Clean dirt from master cylinder reservoir cap. Remove cap and fill reservoir with clean DOT 3 brake fluid. Connect drain hose to right rear bleeder fitting. Submerge other end of hose in clear container full of clean brake fluid.
  2. Loosen bleed fitting about 3/4 of a turn. Have an assistant press brake pedal slowly through full travel, close bleeder fitting, and then return brake pedal slowly to full released position. Repeat operation until no air bubbles are visible at submerged end of hose.
  3. Tighten bleed fitting when fluid is completely free of air bubbles, and remove drain hose. Refill master cylinder reservoir and repeat procedure on left rear, right front and left front wheels. Refill reservoir after each wheel is bled.
  4. Install New Generation Star (NGS) tester with Cable (007-00531) to Data Link Connector (DLC) located behind left side of instrument panel, and follow NGS tester instructions. Repeat bleeding procedure for all 4 wheels.
