Visual Inspection

  1. Ensure master cylinder reservoir is full and parking brake is fully released. Inspect wheel sensors and brakelines for damage. Inspect wheel bearings for looseness or damage. Repair as necessary.
  2. Ensure ABS 1 fuse (50-amp) and ABS 2 fuse (20-amp) located in engine compartment fuse box are okay. Ensure fuse No.5 (10-amp), fuse No. 29 (15-amp), fuse No. 33 (15-amp) and fuse No. 35 (15-amp) located in instrument panel fuse block are okay. Check ABS warning light bulb.
  3. Check for damage to wiring harnesses. Check for loose or corroded connectors. Repair as necessary. If problem persists after visual inspection, proceed with self-diagnostics. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
