Test I: Remote Keyless Entry Out Of Synchronization
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to data link connector following manufacturers instructions. Perform GEM self-test. If DTC B2425 exists, go to step 4 . If DTC B2425 does not exists, go to next step.
- Press any button on inoperative remote transmitter 4 times consecutively. If remote transmitter operates properly, clear DTC and repeat self-test. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step.
- If a second remote transmitter is available, check remote transmitter operation. If second transmitter works with vehicle, go to next step. If second transmitter does not work with vehicle, go to step 5 .
- Press any button on operational remote transmitter. Within 30 seconds, press any button on inoperative remote transmitter. If second remote transmitter operates properly, system is okay at this time. If second remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step.
- Program all remote transmitters. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER under PROGRAMMING. Recheck system operation using suspect remote transmitter. If remote transmitter operates properly, system is okay at this time. Inform customer that any additional remote transmitters not present during programming mode will not operate with vehicle. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to TEST E: DOOR LOCKS INOPERATIVE USING REMOTE TRANSMITTER .
