Test L: Traction Control Inoperative

  1. Check For Diagnostic Trouble Codes

    Perform ABS control module self-test. If any codes are retrieved, see ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  table. If no codes are retrieved, go to next step.
  2. Check ABS Operation

    Test drive vehicle. Check ABS operation. If ABS does not operate correctly, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING  . If ABS system operates correctly, go to next step.
  3. Check Traction Control Switch

    Turn ignition off. Disconnect 30-pin ABS control module connector. See Figure . Measure resistance between ABS control module connector terminal No. 17 (Gray wire) harness side and ground, while pressing and releasing traction control switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, with traction control switch pressed, and greater than 10 k/ohms when released, replace ECU. Repeat self-test. If resistance is not correct, go to TEST N  .
