Test N: Traction Control Cannot Be Disabled

  1. Check Traction Control Switch Circuit

Turn ignition on. Disconnect ABS control module connector C135. Measure resistance of Gray wire between ABS control module connector terminal No. 17 (harness side) and ground, while depressing and releasing traction control switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms with traction control switch depressed and greater than 10 k/ohms with switch released, go to step  4 . If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
  2. Check For Open Or Short To Ground Circuit 960 (Black/Light Blue Wire)

Disconnect traction control switch connector. Measure resistance between ABS control module connector terminal No. 17 (Gray wire), harness side and traction control switch connector terminal No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire). Measure resistance between ABS control module connector terminal No. 17 and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between ABS control module and traction control switch and greater than 10 k/ohms ohms between ABS control module and ground, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair circuit as necessary. Clear codes and repeat self-test.
  3. Check For Open Circuit No. 57 (Black Wire)

Measure resistance between traction control switch connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire), harness side and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace traction control switch. Clear codes and repeat self-test. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair Black wire. Clear codes and repeat self-test.
  4. Check For Short To Power Circuit No. 959 (Gray Wire)

Measure voltage between ABS control module connector harness terminal No. 17 (Gray wire) and ground. If voltage is present, repair Gray wire. Clear codes and repeat self-test. If no voltage is present, replace ECU. Clear codes and repeat self-test.
