Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Disconnect the anti-lock brake control module electrical connector.

  3. Disconnect the anti-lock brake pump motor electrical connector.

  4. Position the underhood auxiliary junction box (AJB) aside.
    1. Release the underhood AJB clips.
    2. Position the underhood AJB aside.

  5. Remove the anti-lock brake control module.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the control module.

  6. CAUTION: Once the new module is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the scan tool into the module. For additional information, see MODULE CONFIGURATION .
    NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.

  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
