Programming Remote Transmitters

  1. Cycle ignition switch from OFF to ON position 8 times within 10 seconds, ending in the ON position. All door locks should lock and unlock, indicating RKE module has successfully entered into programming mode.
  2. Press any button of a remote transmitter, doors should lock and unlock. If doors lock and unlock, transmitter is programmed. Confirm each transmitter is programmed, go to next step. If doors locks do not respond to a transmitter, wait several seconds (less than 20 seconds) and press transmitter button again. If door locks respond, transmitter is now programmed. If door locks do not operate, see appropriate diagnostic procedures in SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . For diagnosis by symptoms, see SYMPTOM INDEX  table in SYSTEMS TESTS.
  3. After all remote transmitters have successfully been programmed, turn ignition switch to OFF position (or wait 20 seconds) to exit programming mode. If remote transmitters were programmed during this procedure, all doors locks will lock and unlock one last time to confirm.
