Test G: Position Sensor System Failure

  1. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, perform Left Power Sliding Door Module (LPSDM) and Right Power Sliding Door Module (RPSDM) self-tests. If DTC B2363 is retrieved from LPSDM, go to next step. If DTC B2363 is retrieved from RPSDM, go to step  7.
  2. Access Power Sliding Door (PSD) position sensor on left actuator drive assembly. If PSD position sensor is installed and seated correctly, go to next step. If it is not installed or seated correctly, install correctly. Repeat LPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2363 is not retrieved, test system for normal operation.
  3. Remove Fuse Junction Box (FJB) fuse No. 6 (15-amp). Wait 30 seconds and reinstall fuse. Perform power sliding door initializing procedure. If power sliding door does not open and close completely, go to next step. If power sliding door opens and closes completely, repeat LPSDM self-test. Repair any remaining DTCs. See LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DTC INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  4. Close power sliding door. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Verify overhead console on/off switch is in ON position. Using a DVOM, backprobe between left PSD position sensor 4-pin harness connector terminal No. 3 (White wire) and ground. Press left "B" pillar open/close switch. If reading is approximately 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not approximately 5 volts, replace LPSDM. Initialize power sliding doors. See PROGRAMMING .
  5. Close power sliding door. Using a DVOM, backprobe left PSD position sensor 4-pin harness connector terminal No. 4 (White wire) and ground. Press left "B" pillar open/close switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace LPSDM. Initialize power sliding doors. See PROGRAMMING .
  6. Remove FJB fuse No. 6 (15-amp). Install a NEW left PSD position sensor. Install FJB fuse No. 6. Close power sliding door completely. Perform LPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, remove new position switch, install previous position sensor and replace LPSDM. If any other DTC is retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DTC INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is operating correctly.
  7. Access right PSD position sensor on right actuator drive assembly. If right PSD position sensor is installed and seated correctly, go to next step. If right PSD position sensor is not installed or seated correctly, install correctly. Repeat RPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2363 is not retrieved, test system for normal operation.
  8. Remove Fuse Junction Box (FJB) fuse No. 6 (15-amp). Wait 30 seconds and install fuse. Perform power sliding door initializing procedure. If power sliding door does not open and close completely, go to next step. If power sliding door opens and closes completely, repeat RPSDM self-test. Repair any remaining DTCs. See RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DTC INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  9. Close power sliding door. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Verify overhead console on/off switch is in ON position. Using a DVOM, backprobe between right PSD position sensor 4-pin harness connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire) and ground. Press right "B" pillar open/close switch. If reading is approximately 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not approximately 5 volts, replace RPSDM.
  10. Close power sliding door. Using a DVOM, backprobe between right PSD position sensor 4-pin harness connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire) and ground. Press right "B" pillar open/close switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace RPSDM.
  11. Remove FJB fuse No. 6 (15-amp). Install a NEW right PSD position sensor. Install FJB fuse No. 6. Close power sliding door completely. Perform RPSDM self-test. If DTC B2363 is retrieved, remove new position switch, install previous position sensor and replace RPSDM. Perform RPSDM self-test. If any other DTC is retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE DTC INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is operating correctly.
