Test D: All Power Windows Inoperative

  1. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, perform Front Electronic Module (FEM) self-test. If DTC B1304 is retrieved, go to next step. If no DTCs are retrieved, go to step  4 . If any other DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE (FEM) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Disconnect FEM 22-pin harness connector C191. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between FEM harness connector C191 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace FEM. See FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE (FEM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove accessory delay relay. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between FEM harness connector C191 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace accessory delay relay.
  4. Remove fuse No. 106 (30-amp) from Battery Junction Box (BJB). Measure voltage between fuse No. 106 input side and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair power supply circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  5. Remove fuse No. 106 (30-amp) from Battery Junction Box (BJB). Remove accessory delay relay. Measure voltage between accessory delay relay harness connector terminals No. 86 and No. 30 and ground. See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair power supply circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  6. Test accessory delay relay. See ISO RELAY TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If accessory delay relay is okay, go to next step. If accessory delay relay is not okay, replace accessory delay relay.
  7. Using NGS tester, access FEM active command ONE TOUCH WINDOW DOWN AND ACCY DELAY. Trigger ACCY RLY ON and OFF while measuring resistance between accessory delay relay harness connector terminal No. 85 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or more when ON and 10 k/ohms or less when OFF, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms when ON and more than 10 k/ohms when OFF, go to step  10 .
  8. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect FEM 22-pin harness connector C191. Measure resistance between accessory delay relay harness connector terminal No. 85 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  9. Measure resistance between FEM harness connector C191 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue wire) and accessory delay relay harness connector terminal No. 85 (Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace FEM. See FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE (FEM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  10. Remove master window regulator control switch. Test master window regulator control switch. See MASTER WINDOW REGULATOR CONTROL SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If master window regulator control switch is okay, go to next step. If master window regulator control switch is not okay, replace master window regulator control switch.
  11. With accessory delay relay removed, measure resistance between master window regulator control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. See Figure . If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  12. Measure resistance between accessory delay relay harness connector terminal No. 87 (Light Blue/Black wire) and master window regulator control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  13. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between master window regulator control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 6 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in Light Blue/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace FEM. See FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE (FEM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
