Vehicle Certification Label

Vacuum diagrams are identified by calibration code. Use the Vehicle Certification Label to identify calibration. Powertrain calibration information is located at lower right corner of Vehicle Certification Label. Powertrain calibration information is limited to a maximum of 5 characters per line on the Vehicle Certification Label. Calibration numbers consisting of more than 5 characters will wrap to the second line of the Vehicle Certification Label. See Fig 1 . As of 1999, Ford Motor Co. is no longer printing revision level on label. Revision information can be located by contacting an authorized Ford dealer. Vehicle Certification Label is attached to left door or left door pillar.

Beginning in 2000, a 4-digit alpha-numeric code, referred to as Calibration Catch Code, appears in parentheses at the end of the calibration code. Example; 9-EQA-BBD 9 (BAX3). The BAX3 in this example is the Calibration Catch Code. This Calibration Catch Code information is attached with a tag to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector and, on some models, the Calibration Catch Code tag may also be located on the "A" pillar or inner fender. This Calibration Catch Code is needed to determine calibration number. See Fig 2 . For PCM location, see POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE LOCATION  table.
