Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the cabin air filter plenum. For additional information, refer to AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Remove the glove compartment.
  4. Disconnect the 3 powertrain control module (PCM) electrical connectors.
    • To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
  5. Remove the 2 PCM nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
  6. Remove the 2 PCM bracket bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  7. Remove the PCM and bracket as an assembly through the glove compartment opening.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
