Shift Cable: LS

  1. Place range selector lever in "D5" position. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect shift cable from shift control lever.
  2. Ensure shift control lever is in "D5" position. "D5" position is 3 detents from most rearward position. Unlock adjuster at end of shift cable. Connect shift cable to shift control lever. Lock cable adjuster. Lower vehicle.
  3. Check for park gear engagement. Start engine and ensure indicated gear positions match transmission response. Verify vehicle only starts in Park and Neutral, and back-up lights operate. If operation is not okay, check transmission range sensor adjustment. See TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR .
