Transmission (LS)

  1. Run engine at idle until transmission temperature reaches 80-120°F (27-49°C). Raise and support vehicle. Place drain pan under transmission.
  2. Check fluid level with transmission in Park and engine running. Fluid level checking plug is located at center of drain plug, on transmission pan. Using a 3/16" Allen key, remove fluid level checking plug. Allow fluid to drain. Wait one minute or until fluid drips. If no fluid drips when fluid checking plug is removed, add fluid as necessary.
  3. Using Fill Plug Adapter (307-437) and suction gun, add appropriate fluid through fluid level checking hole. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS . Repeat step 2)  . Install fluid checking plug and tighten to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
