Climate Controlled Seat Module

Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) with appropriate adapters, or equivalent diagnostic tool
WARNING: Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle and when handling an air bag module. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.
WARNING: Never probe the connectors on the air bag module. Doing so can result in air bag deployment, which can result in personal injury.

CAUTION: Do not handle or lift the seat by the inboard side shield or a torque tube (seat track motor cable and housing). Care must be taken when handling or lifting the seat to prevent damage.
NOTE: If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be depowered.
NOTE: The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.
NOTE: The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
NOTE: When installing a new climate control seat module (CCSM), it is necessary to carry out programmable module installation (PMI). For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  1. Before removing the CCSM, carry out the appropriate steps in the PMI procedure. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  2. Remove the front seat and depower the SRS. For additional information, SEAT - FRONT .
  3. Disconnect the climate controlled seat module electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the climate controlled seat module from the seat cushion.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • The climate controlled seat module must be configured when a new module is installed. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  6. Install the front seat and repower the SRS. For additional information, SEAT - FRONT .
  7. Install the CCSM software data. Carry out the appropriate steps in the PMI procedure. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
