Retrieving & Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to DLC. DLC is located below driver's side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions to retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) for desired module. If no DTCs exist, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX table under SYSTEM TESTS. If any DTCs exist, see appropriate DTC index table for listing of DTCs and appropriate test procedure. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . To clear DTCs, follow NGS tester manufacturer's instructions.
