RCM Does Not Respond

  1. Check circuit for open

    Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Access RCM and disconnect harness connector C424. See RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between RCM harness connector C424, terminal No. 15 and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 7 (White/Red wire, circuit No. 8-EE7). See Fig 1 & Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace RCM. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Red wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
