Digital Transmission Range Sensor

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See appropriate COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
  1. Set parking brake. Place transmission in Neutral. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine air cleaner assembly. Disconnect Digital Transmission Range (DTR) sensor connector. Disconnect shift cable from DTR sensor. Remove nut and manual control lever from DTR sensor.
  2. Loosen DTR sensor bolts. Install DTR sensor Alignment Tool (T97L-70010-A). Tighten DTR sensor bolts to specification. Install manual control lever and nut, and torque to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect DTR sensor connector, air cleaner assembly, and negative battery cable.
