Test J: Smart Lock Feature Does Not Operate Properly Or Inoperative
- Insert key into ignition. Open driver's door. If chime does not sound, go to next step. If chime sounds, go to step 4
.
- Ensure key is in ignition and ignition switch is in OFF position. Disconnect key-in ignition switch harness connector C283. Connect jumper wire between ground and key-in ignition switch harness connector C283 terminal No. 1 (Black/Pink wire). Open driver's door. If chime does not sound, go to next step. If chime sounds, replace key-in ignition switch.
- Disconnect 16-pin Lighting Control Module (LCM) harness connector C2027. LCM is located behind left side of instrument panel. Measure resistance in Black/Pink wire between key-in ignition switch harness connector C283 terminal No. 1 and LCM harness connector C2027 terminal No. 3. See Fig 1
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open on Black/Pink wire.
- Disconnect 18-pin Driver Door Module (DDM) harness connector C519. DDM is located in driver's door. Measure resistance in Black/Pink wire between key-in ignition switch harness connector C283 terminal No. 1 and DDM harness connector C519 terminal No. 18. See Figure
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open on Black/Pink wire.
- Disconnect all DDM harness connectors. Check all harness connector and DDM harness connectors and terminals. Repair as necessary. Connect all harness connectors. Operate system. If problem still exists, replace DDM. If problem does not exist, test is complete.
